1 L Ilves jar made by Riihimäen Lasi, a classic of Finnish household glassware and kitchen storage.
The Ilves jar entered production in the early 1950s. Jars were made in different sizes until the 1970s, when home freezers began to replace glass jars in preserving. An Ilves figure and the text "RIIHIMÄKI" are embossed on the side of the jar. The original tuft-eared Ilves logo was designed by architect Oiva Kallio as early as 1912. Included is the original white-painted metal lid, with a blue-printed image of the lynx and Riihimäki text.
